How To Become Certified As A Teacher

Being a teacher is one of the highest callings a person can undertake. If this is your goal follow the basic steps here to becoming a teacher and being a hero in the eyes of your students.
The first step to becoming a teacher is to of course have enough of your own education. You will need a bachelor´s degree at some school. If you are going to be teaching the younger people, say at the elementary level, you will also need to major or minor in education. You will need the general courses like science and biology and math. If you are going to be instructing the older children you may need a major in the area or specialty you intend to teach in.
The next step is accreditation and preparation for your state´s exams. This applies only if you live in the United States. If you do not, more than likely you may still need to take an exam for your district before you are allowed to teach.
There are other ways to get qualified or certified as a teacher. This will apply if you are in your twenties or younger. You may use the traditional ways of yesteryear. Similar to apprenticeships, you can learn under a tutor. You will not get the bachelor´s degree but you will be getting the training you need to become a teacher. This process begins by learning curriculum developments, assessments, and completing hours being supervised as a assistant teacher.
After this you will work some more. This time you will be working under a teacher who will be your mentor. You may be required to work without a paycheque. During this time you will be preparing your own course studies instead of just using those of other teachers. This is where you get really close to being the teacher you are striving for.
As you progress, you will be taking more control over the class, all the while having your mentor in the room with you. Gradually, you are the only teacher in the room. During this time you are being evaluated in your abilities as a teacher by the education department that is responsible for your area. If they approve of your skills and talents, you will be recommended for graduation from this process and be a ready to become a certified teacher.
During the above process, your aptitude will hopefully increase until you finally reach the level of being able to teach on your own. When you have this aptitude, you will be able to take your state´s exam for your teacher´s license. Once you pass, you should be able to apply for the job of teacher. Many states have a shortage of teachers and the alternative method can be used to help this situation. You will become a teacher of the next generation of the country. This hopefully will be a major improvement with your help.
