There is an examination and application based test that should be passed before getting the license, in most of the cities. After the trainig and passing the licensure examination, the electrician is now certified. He can either work on a freelance basis or be employed and work for a company. A freelance electrician is a self employed electrician which entails an application for a business license before being able to practice on his own.
