The most important skills in this kind of profession are the artistic skills and mechanical as well as manipulative skills in using various tools in landscaping. To be able to obtain clients, more especially when practicing independently, marketing and good communication and interpersonal skills are an advantage.
Duties
The duties and the responsibilities of a landscaper depends on the the type of area involved in the project at hand. They may be tasked to do landscaping of several areas both publicly and privately owned. These include private residential homes, arboretums, office parts, shopping malls, government offices, botanical gardens, public parks, and many more. the specific job title also dictates the responsibilities of a landscaper.
In general, what they do is to plan, create designs and maintain the grounds of the establishment or the areas entrusted to them by their clients. They take care of the gardens, hedges and other landscaped areas. As needed, they may trim or facilitate activities such as trimming of lawns, cutting and planting of trees and plants, applying fertilizers, doing repairs of walks and driveways. Supervisory position and specialists titles include landscape supervisors and landscape contractors.
Earnings and Job Outlook
Landscapers can either practice independently, or be self employed, or work as an employee of a landscaping firm.Those who are self employed can earn flexibly. However, the range of income for this kind of profession starts off from 25,000 U.S. dollars to 57,000 U.S. dollars on a yearly basis. The job outlook is also good and is expected to move faster than the average for the other professions.
