The expertise with the use and application of herbs is expected of them, this is why manipulative skills are also equally important in doing their interventions. Communication skills will facilitate good professional relationships between the herbalist and the patients as well as with the medical team or co-workers.

These days, herbalist are recognized as part of the holistic medical team and are often hired by holistic medical clinics as a staff. In this particular medicine, they focus on the more natural and healthier way of reconditioning and treating their patients.

Herbalist fulfill the role of providing the clients with the herbal medicinal products as well as an assistant or a partner of the acupuncturists and aromatherapist. They follow the usual process of doing interviews and physical assessment before diagnosing what is the chief complaints of the person. After a definitive identification of the condition, they will then either prescribe or directly administer herbal medications to them as necessary and with consent. They do treatment plans for home and advise them on follow-ups just like a medical practitioner.

Job Outlook and Earnings

Again, as this is a newer form of medicine, many people wanted to try the more natural and healthier treatment for their conditions. This brings about the good employment opportunities for the aspiring herbalists. the salary range for the herbalist starts off from 20,000 U.S. dollars to 120,000 U.S. dollars per annum. These rates are dependent on factors such as the years of experience, the type and location of the employer as well as the presence of an independent practice.
