Nurse Aide Exam Tips

Submitted by: shell

Taking exams are never easy and sometimes having people watch every move you make can cause
you to become very nervous and make very common mistakes. I am here to help you to relax and become the best nursing assitant you can be.

First of all, just remember to relax and breathe. Always listen to what the instructor is saying and
follow directions carefully. Always make eye contact with the person you are talking too. Also, like I said
earlier relax and breathe.

Three important rules to always remember are:
 1. Privacy for your patients
         A. always knock before entering any door
         B. Pull your privacy curtains

 2. Universal Precautions
           A. Use gloves for every procedure and if you are not sure, use them anyways.
           B. Use a gown and mask if you are working with a contagious illness

 3. Always, I mean always explain what you are doing to your patient

You are going to do great. When you go to do a procedure, always stop and think about it before
you procede. Common sense on these exams are your best friend. If it doesn't sound right, or makes you
uneasy, then 9 times out of 10 it is not the right thing to do .

Don't be afraid to ask an instructor a question. If you are not sure, don't pretend to know.
Instuctors are there as learning tools not enemies so make sure you ask. Last but not least one more thing
to remember RELAX AND BREATH. Good luck and I wish you well.
