MCSE Study tips

Submitted by:

When attempting to study for your MCSE, you had better make sure that you do not take the material lightly. Here's why! You will get questions on Apple, Unix and stuff that will leave you saying, "Ok, where the heck did these come from?", trust me on that. How's this for a quick example of a question, "You are sitting at an apple computer.........". Ok, got you worried? You should be. If you think running through an MCSE exam is a breeze, go right ahead and ignore what I'm writing BUT if you think that the exam can be a challenge, keep on reading.

Are you willing to take the chance that you know everything in the MCSE class? If so, why are you reading this, you are a brainiac and its your money, or is it? It might be the company you work fors' money and let me tell you, if it is a company that is sending you to class to get your certification, you had better study hard no matter if you think you know the material or not because, if you fail one exam, the testing center WILL send the results to your company. Ya, thats right, don't think you can get the failed test by them, they WILL know.

I'm no expert in the exams BUT I am an MCSE. "Yea me" right? Wrong! I wish that when I was taking the classes for the MCSE, that I didn't think I was the best person in the class out of all the newbies who surrounded me.

If I had taken the time to listen to each one of my classmates, the whole course would have been alot easier. After talking to a few of my ex-classmates since the course/exams, they all agreed that they had wished they had done the same. It would have been 100x easier.

This is just my point of view on what should be done to get ready for the MCSE exam

Bottom line is this:

  • Study the exam books
  • Study the online exam materials
  • Take exam simulations
  • Ask questions, lots of them.
  • Use classmates as a resource

The old cliche that "The worst question is the one you didn't ask" is so true in this case.
I wish you good luck in your exam prep!
